“My Name is Michalis, and I am from Nicosia, Cyprus. I have a degree in Electrical and Electronic engineering and currently work as a Telecom Engineer.
Photography has been my passion for many years. I have always believed that every picture convenes a special message, as much as any other art form does for the viewer. Pictures can address emotions more deeply and faster. They can create an emotion that may vary from person
to person. That is why I also like pictures that provoke questions requiring the viewer to use his or her own imagination.
The first time I held a camera in my hands, I realized that I had the power not only of capturing a moment in time, a memory, but also I could tell a story. My camera becomes my brushes, my canvas and my emotions.
What inspires me most are people. This is my favourite theme. People hide their own stories, which you can capture through the moments of their personal or professional lives, through their eyes, their smile, their cry. My goal is to capture the stories that you will discover through my photos. Join me in this wonderful photography journey and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
I have taken part and have been awarded in several competitions and my work has been published in local magazines, newspapers and exhibited in many galleries.
In Octomber 2010, the Federation Internationale de l'art Photographique, F.I.A.P., honoured me with the artist title AFIAP, in recognition of my artistic achievemets nationally and in international photography competitions. In November 2011, the F.I.A.P. awarded me the highest recognition, the title E.FIAP (Excellent F.I.A.P.). In Octomber 2015, the F.I.A.P awarded me the title E.FIAP/Bronze.
It's my pleasure to have the opportunity to share with you through these photos a part of my work and myself.”
